Chichibu
In 2007, Ichiro Akuto 'grandson of the Hanyu Distillery’s founder' set out to write a bold new chapter in Japanese whisky. His vision became Chichibu Distillery, now celebrated worldwide for its craftsmanship and innovation. This exceptional world blend brings together the heart of Chichibu malt with hand-selected whiskies from Scotland, Ireland, America, and Canada, creating a truly global expression with unmistakable Japanese spirit.
Nestled in the lush surroundings of Saitama, just 70 km northwest of Tokyo, Chichibu began production in 2008 and quickly earned its place among the world’s most admired distilleries. With Mizunara oak washbacks, hand-built copper stills from Scotland’s Forsyths, and a carefully curated selection of bourbon, sherry, and hogshead casks, every detail reflects a dedication to craft. Matured in a traditional dunnage warehouse, these rare and exclusive whiskies are bottled with no chill-filtration and no added color – just pure character and authenticity.

This Chichibu Single Malt Whisky matured in red wine casks sourced from France, the USA, New Zealand, and Japan, contributing to its deep and complex flavor. To make the most of the casks, this whisky is non-chill filtered and has a natural color. The casks allow the whisky to mature on its lees, which forms an essential part of its aroma profile and flavor.
