Loch Lomond 12YO Madeira Hogshead

This 12-year-old Loch Lomond ‘Madeira Hogshead’ is an extremely limited release from the distillery, with only 205 bottles available. Bottled at 55.3% cask strength, it was distilled in 2011 and bottled in 2024, after maturing for 12 years in Madeira Hogshead casks. Bernhard Rems of Whisky Experts had the pleasure of tasting this rare gem and describes it as follows: "A fantastic, super-fruity whisky with a beautiful color and lots to offer. Notes of apples, pears, cotton candy, and cocktail cherries—though slightly alcoholic. It even shows some grassy nuances and a hint of almonds. Truly exquisite and an excellent example of what distilleries in this region can achieve.
